Justin Streat

Justin is a senior majoring in government at Georgetown University. He’s spent the last few years very passionate about criminal justice reform and social justice more broadly. With his own fair share of hardships in life, Justin knows what it takes to stay motivated and to do the work that is monumentally important in Omar’s case. He aspires to become a criminal defense attorney and to work with people like Omar who have been battered down by a punitive criminal justice system.

Flynn Lloyd

Flynn is a third year Film and Digital Media and Environmental Studies major at UC Santa Cruz. She’s interested in social justice documentary work that covers people and issues that are underrepresented. Flynn currently works as a Video Editor and Editor in Chief Elect for City on a Hill Press. She is very thankful and excited to work with Omar and Team Hooks to achieve his exoneration.

Dylan Burns

Dylan is a third year Film and Digital Media Major (Production Concentration) at UC Santa Cruz. He’s heard countless stories of the corruption and inequity in the criminal justice system from his father who worked as a criminal defense attorney. This knowledge has influenced Dylan’s own storytelling, creating films that prioritize voices that are rarely heard. The opportunity to work with Omar and Team Hooks offers him the chance to use filmmaking skills to make change for the better.

Hugh Brooks

Hugh is a student in his final year at Georgetown University studying Psychology and Journalism. Throughout his studies, he has discovered a passion for both storytelling and criminal justice reform, which led him to Omar’s case. He has thoroughly enjoyed building a relationship with Omar and will continue fighting for him until his exoneration. As he prepares to graduate, he hopes to share more powerful stories through his writing, videography, and audio journalism.
